It finally rained… and it rained hard in Austin all weekend. But it’s still pretty dry out there which reminded me of these very famous TV commercials from a very successful water conservation campaign in Mexico all the way back in 1983. What I did not know is that the kid in the ads is the son of comedian Enrique “El Polivoz” Cuenca. Check them after the break…
Mafaldona
The MKX brings you another uncanny resemblance:
Left: Legendary Argentinian soccer player turned struggling Argentinian head coach Diego Armando Maradona during last week’s defeat to Brazil.
Right: Legendary Agentinian comic book character Mafalda during one of her earliest appearances.
What do you think?
Tequila Don José Luis Del Toro Ramírez

Yesterday I received a new and mysterious bottle of Tequila that my dad sent me. My dad somehow manages to find me some wonderful and rare drink every now and then. The brand: “Don José Luis Del Toro Ramírez“. I had never heard about it and I couldn’t find anything about it on Google. So here’s the story:
John Siracusa reviews Mac OS X 10.6
Every time there is a new major Mac OS X release, John Siracusa of the excellent technology website Ars Technica releases a long and detailed review. And the one for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard one has arrived. I post about it here because I think a del.icio.us link on the sidebar is not enough.
John Siracusa has been writing these reviews since Mac OS X DP2 (December 1999) and they are excellent, offering a well written detailed view into the internals and externals of Mac OS X. For me it’s a fascinating read. For you, I don’t know… this is probably attractive only for the technical mind. Mom, don’t read this.
Snow Leopard
Ah, the smell of a new Mac OS X in the morning… There was a line at the Apple Store yet no free t-shirts as before. I hear almost everything is faster – and things will just get faster as applications start taking advantage of OpenCL and Grand Central.
El Pipiriapu
This classic music video by Los Plebeyos is finally available on YouTube. Enjoy!
There’s an app for that
Global Warming and Me
Three signs of how bad it actually is:
1. Lake Travis
I was in Lake Travis last week. The lake is emptier that I’ve ever seen it before. And the low water level means little water flow, which translates directly to a dirtier than usual lake. We need some rain badly. More pictures including girls in bikinis upon request.
Bruce Lee in his soccer debut
Wow.
Photo of the day #27: Abdel Baset al-Megrahi
It doesn’t get any better: The only man convicted for the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 that killed 270 people was released today. This is the photo of him getting on a plane to fly back to Libya. Don’t miss the slogan on the stairs.
