Happy 2007
Four years and counting… (see previous New Year entries: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006).The MKX Staff® wishes all its readers a Happy New Year, even better than 2006. May all your wishes come true.Personally, I had quite an interesting New Year’s evening. Went to five different parties through the night, and then had to go take care of something that involved policemen, fights, lawyers and jails (nothing too serious, don’t worry). I finally got home and went to sleep around 11:00 AM. Not a night that will be forgotten soon, that’s for sure.I have selected a very appropriate photo to grace this post: Mr. Aaron Kirsch and Moishele sent me two boxes of Special Edition 2007 Nochebuena and Casta beer. Andres was kind of enough to bring them to Austin.

Feliz Janucá
Ok, I’m about a week late… but still I hope you had a chag sameach and especially good presents and that none of your bones are broken. For those who couldn’t care less about this whole thing have a Merry Christmas.
Here’s some good light Hanukkah reading:

Nothing says Hanukkah like a Menorah Wii sensor bar. (note they got the spelling from Wikipedia… no one can ever settle on it)
Broken collarbone update
It’s been now a week since I had that little accident. I can now mostly get dressed, eat, and shower by myself. I can now type with one hand. Vicodin is my new best friend. Thanks to everyone who’s helped me out, called or visited. Especially my parents who came over to help their crippled son. My mom is in a cleaning streak, you can eat off my toilet seat and believe me, it’s yummy.
Daniela took these crappy cellphone pics back at the hospital:

IV Painkillers…

I’m sooo… relaxed… happy…
Crash Landing
Since it had been almost a year since my magical memory erasing blow to the head and almost three years since the dislocated toe incident, I decided to try something new.
Yesterday ten minutes into the last NI Eagles game of the season, when fighting for a ball, I got tripped over and landed badly on my left shoulder. The good news is that we still won even though the team had to play one man short (me, and there were no subs). The bad news is that I fractured my clavicle. It’s quite painful, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Thanks to everyone in the team for their wishes and concerns and especially to the Motas who helped me out so much.
Enjoy the x-rays.

Budapest photos
Jaco (my cousin) and I went last week to Budapest for a few days (original plan was to fly to Istambul, but tickets were sold out).
The trip was a lot of fun. Budapest is a beautiful city with lots of history. We were visiting places all day for four days straights non-stop and barely covered what we wanted to see. We saw museums, the Parliament, Statue Park, amazing buildings and even got to visit a Thermal Bath for a bizarre experience surrounded by middle-aged, fat, nude Hungarians. I have uploaded some photos from the trip (sorry – no naked Hungarians).
Back from Israel
Right before midnight on Sunday I landed back in Austin. The trip was loooong (11:45 hours from Tel Aviv to Newark plus another 4:30 from Newark to Austin). On Monday morning I was back at work.
Due to technical difficulties I could not upload any trip photos until now. Here they are. I still need to upload the photos from Budapest though.
I had an awesome time in Israel. Seeing all the family in Haifa was great, the UEFA game was awesome (thanks Feingolds), the outings in Tel Aviv, the visit to Jerusalem, the food, and seeing so many friends I hadn’t seen in so long (Adi, Ziv, Sebas, Oron, Itay, Daniela, etc). Hopefully it won’t be another eight years until I return this time. Only regret is that I didn’t stay longer.
Welcome to Budapest: You’re stuck
To take advantage of the fact that I’m all the way in this side of the world, I decided to take a short, three-day trip to Budapest (originally to be Istambul, but they were sold out). In any case, the Histadrut decided to go into a general strike that could be over “within a few days” while I was here. I’m not sure if my flight to Tel-Aviv will leave later tonight at all. I wish they would have just done something a little less drastic, like losing my luggage.
