Last Sunday, in Monterrey, I went to the new (opened in February 2005) explanade and giant flag next to the Obispado museum. Since it was such a clear day, we took the opportunity tu go up there and take a nicke 360° QuickTime VR panorama of the city (basically, I did the driving and Moi did the photographing with his fancy tripod). It’s a very high quality file of over 7 MB, so be patient and make sure to zoom in to the details!
Some cool things to look for:
Natalia Suayter – click on image to zoom
Meet the extremely hot and first ever Penthouse Magazine Mexico Pet (I’m talking about the girl in the pink dress, not the dude on the right).
This is Argentinean-born model Natalia Suayter. I met her at the opening of Final Feliz, a shop owned by Melvo last Saturday in Monterrey. In the interest of maintaining the R-rating on this blog, I am not linking to any other photos of her. Feel free to find those youself (hint – she appears in the same number as Pilar Montenegro of Garibaldi fame).
Quiz: Who looks happier in the photo? Her or me?
Oh yeah, she’s not really my girlfriend: I don’t think her mom would approve of me.
On April 29 I wrote about my new World Cup sticker album. A little over a month later I am happy to report that I’m 14 stickers short of completion. Check my Progress Tracking page… maybe you can help me!
On a related note, I received the following letter from Modena, Italy last week:
That’s right my friends… the most sought-after sticker is finally here: Marcos Kirsch
Rumor has it that for 10 of these you can get one of Maza Rodriguez.
And now, decide for yourself: Who looks angrier, Marcos, or superstar, legend and crack Guille Franco?

On April 22nd we announced our first reader contest. It was a huge success with over four participants! (read all about it).
Here are the entries:
Keep on reading to see the winner!
From left to right:José Antonio Aguilar, Marcos Kirsch, José Euclides Correa (with Diego Correa), Alejandro del Castillo and Jerónimo Mota.
After two years or so, my very good friend Jose Antonio Aguilar (who studied with me and came dangerously close to displacing me as my parents’ third favorite child) came to visit over Memorial weekend.
That means that out of 20 or so that graduated in December of 2000 from ISE (Electronics Systems Engineer) at ITESM, five were at my place drinking Indio beer, just like the good old days. Except we had more hair. And no baby.
Jaramillo, Daniela, Paty and others joined us for the fun. We had a great BBQ, we went to Austin hallmark Barton Springs Pool, and we drank beer for three days straight and stared at hot girls without actually talking to any of them. As I said… just like the good old days. Oh, yes, we also met Jaramillo’s uncle Klaus.
I want to officially announce the Fifa 2006 World Cup Polla.
This is a pool/game/contest for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. I’ve been working on this for the last few days. The website is online and the relevant parts of the system are fully functional (i.e. submitting results).
The idea is that anyone who’s interested pays $10 USD (cheap, cheap, cheap) and predicts the results of the games in the World Cup. You get 1 point for guessing just the winner (or if it’s a tie), 2 points if you guess the exact score. All the money is handed to the winner(s). I don’t make a cent out of any of this.

Feel free to check out the site, and start submitting your results for the First Round. When the World Cup begins, everybody’s results for the First Round will be published to make things even more exciting. The site will be updated with new things, such as statistics tracking and maybe a online forum so that Tawil can publically trash-talk Yoni.
Also, feel free to invite any of your soccer-loving friends. The more, the merrier.
As long as we’re in the subject, I’m doing pretty good with my album, but if you can, I appreciate the help. And expect lots of soccer-related posts for the next two months.
Up until today, my Powerbook was a fairly new, up-to-date, mostly current computer. Sadly, today I saw a very critical piece of software come out for the new MacBook and MacBook Pro that does not work on my Powerbook and has rendered it completely obsolete and useless to me. And no, it’s not the Parallels Desktop for Mac.
Meet: MacSaber
[Update 5/25/2006] On Tuesday I went to the local Apple Store. They were sold out of MacBooks (but they had black demo units!).
In any case, it turns out I may not have to buy a MacBook right away, after all. I’ll try to test it tonight, even though I’m running against the clock on a small personal project.
