I started having computer problems a few days ago. They coincidentally started right after I applied the Mac OS X 10.5.7 update. So I blamed that and decided to deal with it whenever I get a chance. The symptoms: my Mac mini would lock up after I use iTunes or iPhoto for a little bit. I didn’t really think it was a problem with iTunes or iPhoto themselves nor their files since they happen to be the applications I use the most on that machine – so I assumed the computer would lock up regardless of what program I’m using.
Turns out I was wrong. What happened is that the external hard drive that I use to hold (surprise!) all of my music collection, videos, and over 8000 photos was dying. It finally stopped functioning altogether tonight. None of my computers can even see it, much less mount it or extract any data from it.
In Spain, they translate EVERYTHING, even movie titles. Oddly enough, I distinctly remember Wolverine was called “Guerpardo” in the Spanish-dubbed X-Men cartoons.
18. This is a The MKX® original. Using data from the World Health Organization I put together a little Google Docs spreadsheet with all the confirmed cases of A(H1N1) influenza infection. Interesting to see the trends. Feel free to link to this post to share. To see the latest version of the spreadsheet, click here.

I got to see X-Men Origins: Wolverine on Sunday night. This is my quick review. But before you read, consider this: I was an avid comic book reader as a kid. I generally like action, science fiction and superhero movies. I liked all the X-Men movies.
Now with all this said, let me tell you that X-Men Origins: Wolverine is terrible. Read on for a rant with a few mild spoilers.
This is one of the most fun things you can do with only a few friends and a camera: Shake your head side-to-side vigorously while relaxing its muscles as much as you can; then someone takes a picture. The result is a beautiful still-capture of motion, like those milk drop pictures.
It’s really not a new thing. Read more to see a few we did, and there are many others at the official site Jowlers.com.
I received an email forward saying that the whole swine flu scare is a conspiracy theory by the Mexican government. This pissed me off: misinformation can be deadly in this case. Readers in Mexico and elsewhere: follow all indications and don’t spread this junk. Bill Gates and AOL paying you millions for forwarding an email is harmless enough, but this isn’t. Use common sense.
