This portrait of South African president Jacob Zuma by Brett Murray has triggered a scandal and even marches. It’s based on this portrait of Lenin but it also shows his penis. I think it’s cool and if anyone ever decides to paint me in this style with my package exposed, I’m all for it. Especially if they make my package that big.

Another South African rapper we saw is Hip Hop Pantsula (HHP), and he was a grownup. He was pretty good, but the best part by far was his bassist. She was awesome. You need to see the video, but I don’t know if it does her justice.
This little kid from Johannesburg (oh… the memories) calls himself Gamebuoy and he can rap pretty good. Who knows, maybe he’ll get really famous and I’ll be able to say that I saw him in a concert when he was a kid and I was standing by the stage and totally blocked him from everyone’s view.
I received a mysterious envelope with a return address in Germany. I wasn’t expecting it so quickly: My own myPanini World Cup sticker for my album. It’s finally (almost) complete:
Compared to the 2006 version, I look a lot happier and hairier. Most readers will quickly point out that I’m wearing an outdated 1994 Umbro jersey instead of the current one. You are right – but I guarantee that this photo was taken in 2010 next to none other than former national team legend Luis Roberto Alves “Zague”! (see original).

It took a lot longer than I had hoped for due to unforseen technical difficulties, but I am finally done going through the ~1500 photos we took in the last couple of weeks, selecting and post-processing, and have posted them to The MKX® Photo Central.
I am really happy with how the photos came out. We used an Olympus E-PL1 Micro Four Thirds camera on the trip instead of the usual crummy pocket camera, which we occasionally paired with a Panasonic 45-200mm telephoto lens, which allowed for some cool closeups at the stadiums and in the safari. The main album is broken up by day:
If Maradona, Luciana Salazar, and Claudia Conserva can do it, so can I. So hear it goes: If Mexico wins the 2010 FIFA World Cup, I will run naked. Unless most of you don’t want me to (see poll). Yes, a bold bet, I know. But I am a bold guy, after all.
If Americans cared about soccer as much as the rest of the world does, they’d be carving Landon Donovan’s face on Mount Rushmore right now.
