A friend of mine referred me to this fascinating illusion / psychological experiment. If you shake your head side to side while staring at the image below, your brain will trick you into thinking you’re seeing something that you personally consider of immense beauty. The faint image that emerges varies according to personal standards and experiences. For example, the guy who sent it to me claimed he could see a sunset over the sea. I showed it to my brother and he saw a rainbow. All I see is an iPhone.
Give it a try, and post your results in the comments! It’s pretty cool…
Shake your head vigorously from side to side while staring at this image. You will see an incredible picture emerge.
We started the 2011 league yesterday in the Advanced Division with a tight victory in spite of having a numeric disadvantage in this match. This marks our tenth (!) anniversary, possibly making us the oldest team in the league. That’s impressive.
If/when all players show up, I may post a photo that includes everyone.
The guy in the photo above, my friends, is yours truly at the shooting range. Not something I normally (ever) do. I turned out to be a pretty decent shot. I tried two handguns: a big one and a smaller one, and an M16.
Welcome to Texas
You can check out the targets below… all of them are with the handguns from 3, 7, and 15 yards away. Then there’s one from 25 yards with the M16. Not too bad, considering I didn’t think I’d hit anything at all.
This was shown at a recent meeting at work and drew big laughs. No idea if people outside the tech industry find it as funny, but feel free to share your thoughts.
My summer intern may or may not identify.
I bumped into this last week. One day I will look back at this photo on my iPhone 23 and laugh at the backwards fuel-powered four-wheel contraptions we had to drive. In the meantime, I wonder if my Civic qualifies, as I walk all the way from the normal parking, surrounded by gigantic trucks and SUVs.
People sometimes ask me if I’ve advanced at work. Well, I’m happy to say that I just moved up… to the eight floor! This is what I see from my windwow. If it wasn’t for the apartment complex, you’d think I’m in the moon of Endor.
The ADL, the nation’s premier civil rights organization is running ads in The New York Times, The Washington Post and the International Herald Tribune calling attention to what Hamas is.
This is in light of the reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah. The PA has declared that they will unilaterally seek statehood recognition at the UN on September. Hamas, who rejects Israel’s right to exist and is openly Anti-semitic (among many other things) would become part of the government of such state.
Check out the ads by clicking on the image below and feel free to spread them.
