My childhood will finally have closure

As all of you are perfectly aware (I’m sure), the iPod cannot display hebrew. This makes finding that one Shlomo Artzi track specially difficult.
This is very annoying because it forces you to translate (either literally or phonetically) the track names to the English alphabet.
Well, Ido Mendelson has come up with a way to get the iPod display hebrew. But apparently Apple Israel (Yeda) has decided it voids your warranty (what???).
Anyway, there’s a petition in case you care.
I don’t know yet if I’ll try it… I’m thinking about it though but it’s not clear what it actually does… pressumably it simply replaces the font file in the iPod?

It’s been a while since I posted anything about the NI Eagles, Austin’s top soccer team (approximately).
We are one game away from the end of the Spring 2005 season. We are now in Division 2, having moved up all the way from Division 5 (which is pretty good considering that we are largely the same group of players). The top 2 teams will go up to Division 1. We are now in second place, tied with the Screaming Sparks. The Aardvarks are close and have two games left.
This means that, if we beat Sky Sports on Sunday, we go to Division 1, otherwise we stay in Division 2.
We will be missing quite a few players too, as Jaramillo, Chaparro and Mota are flying to Puebla for Muleiro’s wedding, and I’m going to Monterrey to get constipated eating matzah (and other beige food).
I’ll keep you updated.

[UPDATE 4/28/2005] Well, NI-Eagles won with a convincing 6-1. See you in First Division!!!
This is Superman’s shield that will be used in the upcoming movie. Not bad…
Will we have a remix of John William’s theme too?
Thanks to Super Hero Hype for the link.
Tonight I went to a lecture by Nobel Peace Laureate Elie Wiesel at the Bass Concert Hall. Not only is he a fantastic person, he’s also a fantastic speaker who absorbs all your attention with engrossing stories and thoughts from before, during and after the War. It was a great experience and I’m glad I got to listen to him. This was organized by the Texas Hillel White Rose Society, and my ex-camper Josh Gottesman (sh*t I’m old) was one of the organizers and even got to speak on-stage. He also got me tickets. Thanks Josh, next time you google your own name perhaps this website will come up. When it does, do leave a message.
I spent the weekend winning it big in Las Vegas. Too bad I lost. Photos will be posted soon.
Update 3/31/2005: Photos are online. Click on the sidebar.
Ever heard of del.icio.us?
It’s a “social bookmarks manager”. In english, it means that I can quickly and easily add links I find interesting to the Marcos Kirsch Experience®, and that’s what our thousands of readers want.
So, if you look at the sidebars, there’s a new del.icio.us sidebar. Also, at the bottom of the sidebar you can subscribe to the del.icio.us RSS feed. There is also a feed for the main site. RSS is, in case you don’t know, the best thing to hit the web browser since tabbed browsing. (get Firefox now and look for the orange thingy symbol in the bottom right corner!).
Being hipper than me, Moi has had a del.icio.us sidebar in his blog for some time now.
