Spectacular Flying Pepe: The Video
As promised:
Pepe and Avital get married
This past weekend I flew to Mexico City in order to attend the wedding of my very good friends Pepe and Avital. They were both my next door neighboors at the kibbutz (in each side, different rooms).
Pepe and I go back a long time. He’s a marvelous acrobat (video will be posted in the future). He can play videogames like no one can (he finished Evander Holyfield’s Real Deal Boxing for Sega Genesis in 72 hours playing as El Cupacabras . Nonstop). He got me hooked on Lost.
It was a blast getting together with them both and the rest of the gang that made it to the wedding (some of who I hadn’t seen in 10+ years). They were all very immature back in 1995 and I’m proud to say that they haven’t changed a bit.
During my limited stay in Mexico City, I also got to see some of my family (Bobe Sonia, Tia Chela, Martha, Jacky, Becky, Jenny, Simon, Malka, Miriam) and friends who had nothing to do with the wedding (Aizik, Goldman). I ate a lot, saw a true Mexico City bank robbery, ate a lot, went to the market to buy fish, and ate a lot.
And of course I’ve got to thank my great friends Abraham and Galit Braverman who hosted me this weekend and put up with all my shit. I know it’s not easy. You are welcome to come visit me in Austin, we’ll have a blast. Appropriately, when I went to their wedding, I stayed with Pepe.
And stay tuned for “Spectacular Flying Pepe: The Video“… coming soon to this blog.
Photo of the day #7
After years and years of not finiding a worthy FIFA opponent, Marcos decided to create a few of his own and at the same time improve the world we live in.
Jagshemash
My name Marcos. Tonight, I see Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. I laugh very hard. I also make urine inside the underwear… Great success.. NOT! Also, tonight I learn that I speak the Kazakh. Like me, Borat have the website for the internet.
Dzienkuje.
Jumbo
They had a long lineup last night: Brownout, Maneja Beto, Ghandaia and main show Jumbo. Jumbo is great, and even better live as I noted before. Too bad they started playing well after midnight and a lot of people left early. Hey! Some of us work, you know?
Halloween on Sixth Street

The Ugly Nun takes a break. “El Biker” makes an appearance. A bunch of friends and I headed downtown to check out the costumes. Just like every year, there were thousands of people on the streets wearing some very cool costumes and most women were dressed up as “slutty ” (but not my friends, they’re nice girls.
Note my cool mustache and sideburns. I had girls all over me, even more than the usual. Like flies all over a honey-smeared Marcos! I thought about it loooong and hard this morning, but at the end I shaved it all off. I’ll miss you mustache and sideburns. You made other guys fear me in the streets and the woman lust after me. Anyway, go see the photos, but keep in mind Andres is semi-nude in them. So if you’re pregnant, have back problems, or a weak stomach, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
The Ugly Nun resurfaces – and she’s not alone!

It’s been a long time since the Ugly Nun was seen in Austin. Some say she was hiding (no, not in the closet). In reality, she was traveling the world…
AND NOW SHE’S BACK, UGLIER, HAIRIER, DRUNKER AND BEST OF ALL…SHE’S NOT ALONE
Follow the adventures of the Ugly Nun and her sidekicks Die deutschen Nonnen. Also included are: the Bearded Boy, the Hassidic Jew that looks like Jorge Campos, the Devil’s Bastard Child, the cutest bunny, and many more in The MKX® Photo Central.
Also, hurry up and head to The MKX® Gift Shop to snatch some Ugly Nun merchandise, such as the ever popular Nun Thong and the fashionable Mad Nun Baby Doll… while supplies last!
[Update 10/30/2006]: I just received a link to the official album from the party. Enjoy.
[Update 10/31/2006]: Jaramillo posted his own photos.
Kinky
Last Wednesday, some friends and I headed to Emo’s, on Sixth Street, to see regiomontano band Kinky. Check out the photos in The MKX® Photo Central, if you dare. Jaramillo posted additional details.
Five years at NI
Last Wednesday, Dr. T and Mark Finger took me and other co-workers for lunch to celebrate our 5th (or 10th or 15th) anniversary working at National Instruments (three months after the fact, but we’re all busy people with no time for trivial things like celebration lunches and updating a blog, right?).
It feels like yesterday when I sat in a room with Rafa Castro interviewing for a full time job as a software engineer in the far-away land of Austin, TX (380 miles away to be precise). Now I’m actually expected to know what I’m doing!
In the photo you can see me. To my right is founder and CEO Dr. T. Claudia Lorente is the third from left to right in the first row. I joined her group recently and I hope she won’t yell at me too much when I mess up.
I must say, the past five years have been a blast here in Austin and at NI and I gotta thank Dr. T and all of my coworkers for making it possible and allowing me to learn tons of stuff while having fun. For those readers who also happen to be financial analysts, I give you a graph that shows the historical revenue of NI. Draw your own conclusions
