Yes, I’m very scared about tomorrow’s game. In order to mentally prepare I made this quick sketch. Recognize him? Write down your best guess in the comments section.

Wasabi Peas

Interesting snack I discovered yesterday at the supermarket: Roasted peas covered in nose-clearing wasabi. It has a kick, albeit a mild one. I think this may turn into a permanent addition to my snack drawer (not yet featured in The MKX®).
Alaska
The MKX® has not received updates lately because I went to Alaska with the Sandler Clan. I’m now back and catching up with things. Moi and I hope to upload many hundreds of photos soon to a new website, but don’t hold your breath.
In the meantime, here is one of me and my friend the Hubbard glacier.
Redrum, redrum
My cousin Alan decided to go through old photos and upload them to Facebook. What I saw surprised me deeply: His brother Yann played Danny Torrance, the creepy kid from Kubrick’s classic The Shining. See for yourself:

Nablus’ record breaking knaffe.
Nablus Entered the Guinness World Record

I was introduced to the wonderful flavors of knaffe by Adi Levinson a year ago. Now word comes from Nablus that the record for largest knaffe has been broken: 1,765 kilos (3,891 lbs) and 74 meters (243 feet) long. Awesome… wish I could have tried it. Congratulations!
Blame Canada: Mexicans need tourist visas
In a surprise move by the Canadian government, it is now required for Mexican and Czech tourists to get a visa before visiting.
However, they decided to make it effectivealmost immediately (announced on Monday, effective today).
I’m not exactly sure what the Canadians are thinking, but most tourists buy their tickets and make all travel arrangements more than zero days in advance. I’ve never been in Canada in my life myself, but I do have the extremely good luck of being scheduled to travel there next week, along with about 30 members of my family… the vast majority of us Mexican citizens.
From what I hear, the embassy in Mexico City was caught by surprise and there is no way we can get a visa on time. We’ll see how this one plays out.

My house’s old respiratory system gutted.

I had the A/C ducts replaced in my house. The ones I had were old and leaky. Leaky ducts means cold air leaking in the attic, bad efficiency, and condensation which causes water. Not good. Expensive but necessary.
If you need a reliable Air Conditioning guy with great service and great prices in the Austin area, let me know!
French press surprise
I’m a huge fan of Bodum‘s French Press coffee mug. In a few minutes you make a large cup of freshly pressed coffee with minimal work and minimal dishes. I actually own two, one for work, and one for home.
So I highly recommend it to my coffee drinking colleagues. One of them, Eli Seidner, got one too. I forgot to mention to him that he should wash it after using it, especially if you are going to leave it at the office and then go home for the weekend.
Below, Eli’s mug:

Photo of the day #26: Obama and Lula
Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva gifted Barack Obama a Brazilian soccer jersey just two weeks after Brazil beat the U.S. in the final of the Confederations Cup while meeting during the G8 Summit in Italy.
The optimist inside me predicts that in a few weeks, a sad looking Obama will receive yet another autographed soccer jersey, except this time it will be Felipe Calderón handing it over. Oh yes.
