This Argentinian Electronic-Tango is lead by musical eminence Gustavo Santaolalla, who has won twelve Grammys and 2 Oscars… but who’s counting? These guys are incredible. But the best part is that they seemed to be having a blast while doing it.
Tthis was the one show that I could not miss from the Festival this year. And it didn’t disappoint. I took some video but for some reason whenever I took my camera out I’d get hit with a giant beach ball. Here’s one, but I’m still sad they didn’t take me on stage. Pay close attention at 1:14:
I saw this Los Angeles band in SXSW 2004. Six years later they’ve gotten a lot more famous. This was a big, big show. And it was great. The band mixes styles and sounds with great success. The show finale, as in 2004, was to get off stage and do a big dance circle with the crowd. Unlike 2004, the band didn’t do their finale on 6th street nor did they get arrested.
