Today, a new FCC regulation allows a cell phone user to switch phone companies and keep his number!!!
I for one will be taking advantage of this, as my cell phone is getting old and that new bluetooth-enabled Sony Ericsson cell phone is just begging to be used with iSync….
I’ll keep you posted.

FIFA 2004 Tournament
Yesterday, EA Sports held a FIFA 2004 Tournament in the bar Cain and Abel’s.Of course I went. Being as addicted to this videogame as I am, I did very well. Made it to the final where I played none other than my FIFA nemesis: David Levinson. I’ve been playing him since the game first came out for Sega Genesis and now in Austin I play him in the final of a tournament. Well, we tied 0-0 and the lucky bastard beat me in penalty shootout. On the upside, I got a free t-shirt and a free blowup soccer ball. Also, it should be noted that I did not receive a single goal during the whole tournament.
New sidebar items
I added two things to the leftmost sidebar:
– A link to Pupo’s blog (which now renders correctly in Safari.
– A link to my Amazon.com wishlist
I also corrected the link to Eduardo’s (a.k.a. Aizik) blog.
My rib is not broken!
NI Eagles fell 1-0 against old time rival Cameron Road United. They broke our 8-win streak. For a moment there I thought they also broke one of my ribs but x-rays have now confirmed that nothing is broken – perhaps cracked but not broken for sure.
Well, we’ll see if in a few days I can start laughing or sneezing without pain.
Use the comments section on this post for those “get well soon” wishes. This will also serve as a sick experiment to see if anyone actually reads the articles in this website and not only come here for the pictures.
FIFA 2004… I have it!
I was so happy to see in the back of the box a picture of Monterrey VS America (Arellano and Cuauhtemoc perhaps?).
The off-the-ball gameplay sounds like a fantastic idea although we’ll see how well I can really control two players using both analog sticks… doesn’t sound easy. And the level of detail is fantastic, Monterrey’s uniform has the logo with two stars, the orange stripes, the Carta Blanca on the back, the Atletica brand… everything!
Now let’s wait for others to get it and it will be online kicking but.
Matrix Revolutions
Last night I saw the new Matrix movie.
Reviewers don’t seem to like it too much. What do they know? Go see it, it’s great! (don’t worry… no spoilers here).
In my opinion, it’s much better than Reloaded and even better than the first one.
Halloween
I have posted a few Halloween photos using some of that .mac magic we all love. Check them out! (and see The Ugly Nun).
I also bought some prints. We’ll see how they look in a few days.
Update October 31 2014: .Mac homepage were taken down. So I’m uploading the images again here.
Tomacco Becomes A Reality!

Tomacco Becomes A Reality!
October 29 Posted By Adam Source: KPTV
Rob Baur, a huge Simpsons fan, grafted a tomato plant to a tobacco plant, grew it, and tonight he has proof from the lab that it worked. “What we found was nicotine in the leaves”. said scientist Ray Grimsbo. The plant grew off the tobacco roots and sucked up the nicotine, just like Tomacco on The Simpsons. The lab hasn’t tested if the actual tomato has nicotine in it yet, but they say it probably does. “Generally in the fruit there is more material concentrated because that’s what everything’s going through to produce the fruit for the next generation. I would expect there would be more.” And that would make the real life tomacco plant very poisonous. Rob Baur says he grew the tomacco plant just for fun, just to see if it would really work. But what’s next for him? “I’ll have to review my DVD’s to see if there is more Simpsons science available.”
EASports FIFA 2004 includes Monterrey
Few video game related news could make as happy as this one….
November 4 marks the date EA Sports releases FIFA 2004, the new version in a long chain of the excellent soccer video games. Needless to say, since I’ve been playing them on my Sega Genesis (RIP) in the early nineties, I’ve awaited the moment when they would include my team Monterrey (current Champion of the Mexican league after a 17 year drought – but doing miserably this season).
Well, the wait is over. Next week, I’ll be the first in line to buy the new FIFA.
UPDATE: Thanks very much to my big brother Jaco who brought such good news to an otherwise grey day.
