The NI Eagles had a victorious debut yesterday in the Austin City League. We started out in Division 5 and have climbed all the way up to Division 2. We played Fusion yesterday, and beat them 2-0. This should be a fun torunament!
Carlos Marchani and Papa Faye scored for NI Eagles.
Yesterday, with a 5-0 victory over T2, the NI Eagles win the Austin Soccer City League Division 3 championship (after moving up from Division 5 and Division 4) with two games to spare. We will be in Division 2 next tournament.
Sadly, I have been out for most of this league due to a nasty foot injury. Oh well…. hopefully I can rejoin the team soon.
Congratulations to all of the team for an incredible season! (and to Boris our imposing goalkeeper for scoring his first goal with the team).
About a month ago, I hurt my foot badly playing indoor soccer. I dislocated my big right toe. I had to use crutches for a few days and I can’t play soccer for another month!
NI Eagles fell 1-0 against old time rival Cameron Road United. They broke our 8-win streak. For a moment there I thought they also broke one of my ribs but x-rays have now confirmed that nothing is broken – perhaps cracked but not broken for sure.
Well, we’ll see if in a few days I can start laughing or sneezing without pain.
Use the comments section on this post for those “get well soon” wishes. This will also serve as a sick experiment to see if anyone actually reads the articles in this website and not only come here for the pictures.
We started in Austin’s Third division with the right foot, defeating Cameron Road United 4-2… We scored the first goal and went to half time 1-0, but they scored two quick goals and were ahead 2-1 early in the second half. We were able to pull it off though.
Novotny, Jernimo, Papa and Dave Fuller scored for us.
A 5-2 win over FC-02 Austin this morning places NI Eagles on top of the League. We lost 3 important players to injuries (Mota, Ross, Diego), but still pulled the win.
This is great! We’re moving up a division. Good job team.
This morning, the NI Eagles (my soccer team) played the former leader of the season. We completely demolished them by an outrageous 7-0 (not a single one of them mine 🙁 …). Great! one more game and unless we screw up big time, we’ll climb up to the next division.
This past Sunday, we (NI Eagles) lost in a very tight match against the Land Sharks in the Austin City League. This puts us in third place, with still quite a few games to go. We still have a chance to win the league and to be promoted to the next division. I’ll keep you updated.
